Reducing, refining and replacing (3R) animal experiments for the development of food and pharmaceutical products is an integral part of the project “Sneller van Innovatie naar Mens” (SLIM ) roughly translated as Reducing the time from innovation to reach people. SLIM is an innovative life sciences project which aims, within a period of three years, to demonstrate a strategy (best practice) that contributes to a more rapid acceptance and implementation of 3R methods. In this project knowledge institutions, commercial companies, public institutions and regulatory bodies are working together to improve the implementation chain of alternatives.
