The first step in an infection and illness in an organism is the attachment of a virus to a cell in the organism’s body. A better understanding of this interaction between virus and host can help in the development of new vaccines or antiviral therapies. Researchers at Utrecht University have studied the poultry Corona virus IBV and have discovered a relationship between the bond and the eventual pathological
nature of the virus in poultry. They have recently published their results in the academic periodical Journal of Virology.
